WRA, Inc. is thrilled to welcome Dr. Greta Brownlow as Environmental Planning Director. Dr. Brownlow brings more than 20 years of experience specializing in environmental planning and analysis, policy research and analysis, and community outreach. She brings a diverse portfolio of experience working collaboratively with public agencies, private developers, and local communities to plan key projects throughout the Bay Area including housing, innovation, education facilities, and other public infrastructure.
“We are really excited to have Greta joining our team as Environmental Planning Director,” said Geoff Smick, WRA’s Chief Executive Officer. “She brings combined strengths in client facing work, as well as staff development which will enable her to successfully grow WRA’s environmental planning services. Greta’s two decades of experience has allowed her to make a lasting positive impression on the communities she’s worked within by helping them grow smartly, which is directly in line with WRA’s Vision.”
In her new role, Dr. Brownlow will develop strong rapport with WRA clients and project partners, provide oversight, and technical guidance for planning deliverables, as well as support WRA’s culture of staff mentorship and professional development. As a key member of WRA’s leadership team, she will lead strategic initiatives to expand and diversify WRA’s environmental planning practice.

My goals continue to facilitate beneficial outcomes for communities and their environments.”
Dr. Brownlow holds a doctorate in education, with an emphasis in public engagement in school planning. She serves as adjunct faculty at San Jose State University, where she teaches Environmental Planning in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. She also previously served as adjunct faculty at Cal State East Bay and has taught California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance courses for University of California, Davis Continuing and Professional Education. She is a member of the American Planning Association (APA) California Chapter, California Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP), and San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR). Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Brownlow now lives in Oakland with her husband, where  she enjoys travel, hiking, running, yoga, and live music.
