WRA’s Tyler Hanson Earns His Associate Professional Soil Scientist Certification
WRA congratulates Tyler Hanson who recently earned his Associate Professional Soil Scientist Certification from the Soil Science Society of America.
Tyler is a Biologist with WRA. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Botany and a minor in Wildland Soil Science from Humboldt State University, where he studied a broad range of topics including plant taxonomy, plant physiology, wetland ecology, forest ecology, rangeland ecology, and soil management. At WRA, Tyler’s work includes wetland delineations and assessments, dry wash mapping, protocol-level rare plant surveys, vegetation community mapping, mitigation monitoring and management, wildlife surveys, post-fire assessments, compliance monitoring, and permitting and planning. Other experience includes rare plant population monitoring, long-term monitoring, habitat assessment, post-fire recovery monitoring, native seed collection, and ecological restoration. Tyler has worked in a wide variety of habitats throughout California which include the South Coast, the Peninsular Ranges, the Transverse Ranges, the Sonoran Desert, the Mojave Desert, the Basin and Range, the North Coast, the Cascade Range, the Sierra Nevada, and the Modoc Plateau.
