WRA Supports California Trails & Greenways 2024

WRA is excited to support the California Trails & Greenways again April 30-May 2, 2024 in beautiful Lake Tahoe! This year’s theme is “Understanding the Past, Embracing the Future” and conference attendees will explore the past, present, and future of the role of trails in our ever-changing world.

WRA Principal Ecologist and Conservation Planner Matt Richmond will present on and lead a panel to discuss “Biodiversity Engagement Zones: A Multidisciplinary Trails Planning Framework” on Thursday, May 2 at 9:15am as part of the Planning track. Panelists include Matt DeYoung with the Santa Cruz Mountain Trail Stewardship, Chris Orr with the International Mountain Bicycling Association, and Carl Sanders with the Marin Municipal Water District.

As a preview to a panel presentation, Matt Richmond has authored a WRA Field Notes blog on Biodiversity Engagement Zones.
