Thursday, February 9
8am: Rob Schell, WRA’s Wildlife and Fisheries Director will serve as Chair of “Addressing Conservation Challenges through Technology” Session.
9:45am: Patricia Valcarcel, CWB, WRA’s Regulatory Program Director will present in the Reptiles and Amphibians II Session, “Giant Gartersnake Historical Habitat Design at Lookout Slough, a Multi-Benefit Restoration Project”.
Friday, February 10
8:05am: Katie Smith, PhD, current President of TWS-WS and a Wildlife Biologist with WRA will present two talks in the Mammals V: Rodents / Lagomorphs Session, “Building a Better Prediction: A Case Study in Evaluating a Quick Field Assessment Technique for Predicting Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse Occupancy” and at 8:25 am she will present “Utilizing the ARCGIS Field Maps Mobile App to Optimize Survey Data Collection for a Large-Scale Collabrative Regional Study”.
8:45am: Carla Angulo, Biologist with WRA, will present in the Challenges and Opportunities II: Human Dimensions Session, “Evaluation of Dam Decommissioning as a Marsh Restoration Method”.
10:45am: Erik Schmidt, Restoration Permitting Specialist with WRA will present in the Challenges and Opportunities I: Species Recovery Session, “20 Years of Progress in California: Advances in State and Federal Permitting and CEQA Review for Wildlife Habitat Restoration and Multi-Benefit Projects”.
