WRA to Sponsor/Present/Exhibit at the California Wildfire Conference 2023

WRA is honored to sponsor and be part of the programming for the first California Wildfire Conference! Hosted by Coastal Quest, in partnership with Ventura County Wildfire Collaborative, this three-day event will bring together a diverse community of wildfire practitioners to focus on understanding, preventing, and recovering from wildfires. The conference will be held from October 24-26, 2023 in Simi Valley.

WRA Senior Community Resilience Planner Molly Curley O’Brien will moderate Session 4: Funding and Implementing Your Plan on Wednesday, October 25 from 2:30-3:15pm. Molly will be moderating a discussion on wildfire grant cultivation and grant administration, while also sharing successful examples of collaborative wildfire resilience projects funded by public grants. Session presenters include Deborah Glaser of The Nature Conservancy and Will Evans of the Clear Lake Environmental Research Center.

In addition, GIS expert Peter Kobylarz will serve as Table Host on Day 1 of the conference starting at 2pm. Please sign up for his talk “Resilient Data – Enhancing your Organization’s Data for Effective Wildfire Preparation, Mitigation, and Response”.
