Water Resources Engineering

WRA’s restoration design focuses on habitat restoration, preservation and enhancement of natural spaces.

WRA’s engineering and design team focuses on projects that improve water quality, restore habitat, preserve and enhance natural areas, and create outdoor places where people can thrive. WRA has a collaborative group of engineers, landscape architects, and restoration ecologists who prepare restoration and mitigation designs for a wide range of clients. Our team prepares creek and waterway restoration projects that provide the maximum attainable ecological lift. Our work includes using natural materials, integrating stabilization and habitat features, using innovative bioengineering approaches and using features within HEC-RAS and other models to refine designs to maximize effectiveness. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs, and apply our understanding of natural systems to develop sustainable, process-based restoration designs that meet the stringent requirements of local, state, and federal permitting agencies.

WRA provides full project delivery, from initiation through monitoring and maintenance, and ultimately obtaining final project approvals. We understand that restoration is a nuanced blend of science, engineering and design, and that the implementation phase is of the utmost importance. Our depth of experience in restoration construction allows us to provide our clients with the appropriate level of implementation oversight from construction observation through full construction management.
