The Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation will hold its biennial conference November 5-9, 2017 in Providence, Rhode Island. CERF publishes a leading journal titled “Estuaries and Coasts” providing a platform for which scientists can share their work. Scientists gather at the event to share research in progress and findings.
WRA eelgrass expert, Gwen Santos, will present a poster at the event focused on eelgrass research in San Francisco Bay. Gwen and her graduate adviser, Dr. Katharyn E. Boyer, will present final results of her thesis project which examined environmental influences on eelgrass growth. The poster, titled “No interactive effects between light and nutrients on San Francisco Bay eelgrass (Zostera marina) growth” will be on display at the conference. Gwen’s research contributes to the breadth of knowledge and provides considerations for eelgrass restoration within San Francisco Bay.
