WRA, Inc. is proud to continue its partnership with The Watershed Project, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring urban watersheds and connecting communities to the natural environment. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing urban habitat, supporting resilient landscapes, and fostering meaningful community engagement.

As part of this partnership, WRA team member Rei Scampavia, PhD serves on The Watershed Project’s Board of Directors, helping guide the organization’s mission and impact across the San Francisco Bay Area. In April, Rei also led a pollinator workshop as part of a schoolyard garden installation, supporting hands-on environmental education and habitat creation for local students. WRA’s connection to The Watershed Project spans many years. Senior team member Jeanine Stickland, PLA has been involved with the organization since 2008 through both professional and volunteer efforts, including grant writing, design, and interpretive signage projects as well as community-focused initiatives. Her work has contributed to projects including the North Richmond Shoreline Vision Plan; North Richmond Watershed Connections Project which includes the Clean and Green Adopt-a-Tree Program and North Richmond Nature Loop project; Baxter and Richmond Greenway bioswale projects; and Sutter Avenue Green Street Project and North Richmond Watershed Needs Assessment.

Looking ahead, WRA is excited to sponsor the upcoming Watershed Bash on June 10, 2026 at Tilden Regional Park. This annual gathering celebrates community, stewardship, and the ongoing work to improve local watersheds. This year the Bash is extra special in that it will celebrate The Watershed Project’s 30th Anniversary. Be sure to say hello to Rei and Jeanine at the event!

Together, WRA and The Watershed Project are advancing solutions that bring nature into urban environments, strengthen community connections, and support healthier, more resilient ecosystems.
