WRA Celebrates Bolinas Lagoon Wye Wetlands Restoration Project Ribbon-Cutting

On June 30, 2026, WRA’s Principal Hope Kingma and Restoration Hydrologist Jake Kramarz proudly joined Marin County Parks, agency representatives, project partners, and community members to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the Bolinas Lagoon Wye Wetlands Restoration Project, marking the successful completion of one of California’s most significant multi-benefit tidal restoration efforts.

The project restores critical tidal wetland and floodplain habitat at the northern end of the Bolinas Lagoon, a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance, while improving fish passage, increasing resilience to sea level rise, and reducing roadway flooding and enhancing public safety.

WRA was honored to serve as the lead environmental and design consultant for the project. We extend our appreciation to our project partners Mark Thomas and Crawford & Associates for their work to design the reconfiguration of Olema Bolinas Road, including the new creek bridge crossing.

With construction now complete, WRA has begun the first of 10 years of performance monitoring, continuing our partnership with Marin County Parks to help ensure the long-term success of this significant restoration effort.
