WRA is pleased to announce the addition of Janet Klein, Community Resilience Director. Janet brings 30 years of experience managing public lands and creating partnerships that advance conservation and climate resilience goals. She brings a suite of expertise and skills that align with WRA’s Vision in growing our Community Resilience practice.

“I’m really excited for Janet to be part of our team,” said Geoff Smick, WRA Chief Executive Officer. “Her combined expertise in ecology, natural lands and recreation management, and wildfire resilience and planning will not only bring value to this leadership role but will also allow her to collaborate seamlessly across other WRA practice areas. She excels in working with a wide variety of stakeholders to increase the capacity of partner organizations which expedites their ability to deliver more projects.”

Janet’s areas of expertise include multi-jurisdictional collaboration, multi-agency systems integration, community engagement, climate resilience planning, wildfire risk reduction, landscape-scale vegetation management, ecological assessment, and long-term monitoring program design.

Janet brings a wealth of public agency experience including her tenure as Vice President, Community Connections for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and Natural Resources Program Manager for the Marin Municipal Water District.

“WRA’s vision ‘cultivating a sustainable future where people and the environment thrive’ resonates deeply with me,” said Janet. “Working to this end has been the hallmark of my 30-year career as a public lands manager and facilitator of community collaborations. I’m excited to join the team”.

Janet earned her Master of Science degree in Land Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies from Wesleyan University. She currently serves as a Director on the Board for Audubon Canyon Ranch.
